Pressing process steps of packing ring

Assembly steps of packing ring:

Step 1: Before assembling the packing ring, clean the stuffing box and wipe it with a clean cloth to remove oil stains, debris and other debris.

Step 2: The selected packing shall be placed on a clean chopping board or paper to prevent adhesion of sediment or other debris.

Step 3: For rope packing that is not pressed into a ring. Before assembly, the sealing ring with the same inner and outer diameter as the stuffing box shall be pressed with the die, and the winding method shall not be used for assembly.

Step 4: Install the annular packing into the stuffing box one by one. The cut of each ring is 45 degrees, and the adjacent two rings are staggered by 120 degrees. At the same time, make the rings parallel and close to each other.

Step 5: Before the formal operation, the test run is now under no-load condition. Then start the machine formally and observe whether there is any abnormal phenomenon.

When the packing is used for the valve, the packing section is the same as the space of the valve, and it is better to use the preloading ring: when the packing is used for the pump, the space between the packing section and the valve (about 0.3mm-0.6mm) makes the shaft and packing have a leakage clearance, which is conducive to lubrication and heat dissipation.
